To find any record in the database, simply use the Search function that appears in the upper right or bottom left of most of the pages of the database.
The best Search results will be found by using the most unique search parameters. Since names may be spelled differently than you expect, we recommend that you only use a few letters of the name to search by, but choose letters that would be uncommon - e.g., when searching for an
Organization, type in the most unique word of the
Organization's name to find it. If you want to find 'The Funny Gummy Company' you don't have to search for the full name, just use 'Funny' or 'Gummy' to find it.
Similarly, when searching for a
Household, family or person, you don't need their entire name, just a few letters that would limit your results to just a few possibilities. The search function DOES accomodate spaces, so if you want to find 'Beth Johnson and Chris Smith,' which have 4 common names that will appear in your database, search for something more specific - 'Beth Johnson' or even 'Beth Smith' will get you to the right record.
If only one search result is found, you will be bumped right in to the record. If more than one result is found you will be shown all results. Each result will also show you symbols that tell if the record is a donor, volunteer, grantor, board member and many other important facts. Each of these symbols will allow you to skip to a specific part of that record's data.
If you are looking to find a list of
more than one record that meets certain specifications, don't use the Search functions, go to the
Reports page by using the
REPORTS tab at the top of your screen.
